Who knows if you'll get an answer. Anyway, it seemed to me that the implication was that Magrathea somehow fixes the whole dead-thing, perhaps it rebuilds our worlds merely by just turning back time. But it's only that- an implication.
The other problem is that they said that our worlds were destroyed at every point in time. So what's the point? Won't the world just be destroyed again once rebuilt? But I guess maybe they don't know since Magrathea is only a faint legend at this point...
